Wildfires are a massive threat to all life in both rural and urban areas all over the world. The lyrics for "Wildfire" began in late 2020, when Australia was devastatingly hit by fires, scorching millions of acres of land, destroying buildings, taking human lives and killing perhaps 3 billion terrestrial vertebrate, mostly reptiles, as well as possible driving some endangered species into extinction.
The lyrics are also inspired by the salamander, a fire spirit that is thought to dance in the flames of fires. They are curious, sneaky, spontaneous and can not be tamed. Their incendiary nature can make them volatile and dangerous for those who interact with them.
